FAQs
Colour Analysis
Is a colour or style appointment more important for your overall look?
This question is a bit like asking, "Which comes first, the chicken or the egg?" Both colour and style appointments are essential in enhancing your overall look, and the right choice depends on your current needs and priorities.
A colour appointment focuses on identifying the shades and tones that complement your unique personal colouring. It’s ideal for creating a cohesive wardrobe and ensuring your clothing, makeup, and accessories enhance your natural features. This is a great starting point if you want to build a wardrobe that works effortlessly together.
A style appointment, on the other hand, is about understanding your body shape, proportions, and personal preferences. It helps you create a wardrobe that aligns with your lifestyle and personality, refine your silhouette, and choose clothing that truly represents who you are.
Both are integral to mastering your overall style. We often advise starting with a colour analysis to build a strong foundation and only purchasing basic items until you feel confident in how to dress your body and personality. Ultimately, combining both services will give you the most transformative and confidence-boosting results.
What should I do if a full colour analysis feels too expensive?
If a full colour analysis feels out of reach financially, there are still ways to take meaningful steps toward understanding your personal colouring. Starting with a more affordable undertone analysis is a great option. This service focuses on identifying whether your skin’s undertone is warm, cool, or neutral, giving you a solid foundation to make informed decisions about makeup and clothing. It’s a cost-effective way to gain valuable insights without committing to the full analysis upfront. You can always invest in a full colour analysis later when the time feels right, which will build on this foundation by providing a deeper understanding of the tones and shades that suit you best.
There is also an option to pay using Klarna pay. See terms and conditions a=in footer to learn more.
Please also remember that any style service will empower you with knowledge and ultimately save you money on unwanted, unworn purchases.
What is the difference between seasonal and tonal colour analysis?
Seasonal Colour Analysis categorises individuals into one of four broad seasonal palettes—Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter—based on their skin tone, hair, and eye colour. While it provides a general guide to flattering colours, it can sometimes feel limiting as it groups people into broad categories.
Tonal Colour Analysis, on the other hand, is far more precise and personalised. It focuses on the specific characteristics of your colouring, such as warmth, coolness, brightness, or softness, and identifies which tones work best for you. With tonal analysis, there are 24 possible palettes rather than just 4, offering a much more in-depth and tailored understanding of the colours that truly enhance your natural features.
This tailored approach allows for a more versatile and cohesive wardrobe, making tonal analysis the ideal choice for those seeking a truly transformative and confidence-boosting experience.
Is online colour analysis a better option for me since it’s cheaper?
Online colour analysis can be a fantastic and flexible option, especially if you’re unable to attend an in-person session. As long as well-lit photographs are provided, I can accurately assess your personal colouring with confidence. However, the main challenge lies in the client not being physically draped in my fabric swatches during the session. This hands-on experience is invaluable, as it allows you to see and fully understand how different colours work for you in real time, making it easier to capture and retain what I am teaching.
With that being said, there are ways around this challenge if you feel online analysis is the best option for you. I’ll guide you every step of the way to ensure you still gain valuable insights and leave with the tools to confidently embrace your personal colouring.
Is undertone analysis or full colour analysis right for me?
Choosing between an undertone analysis and a full colour analysis depends on your goals and how in-depth you’d like to go with understanding your personal colouring. An undertone analysis focuses specifically on identifying your skin’s undertone (warm, cool, or neutral) to guide you in selecting flattering colours for makeup and clothing. It’s a quick and targeted service, ideal if you’re looking for a foundational understanding of what works best for you.
On the other hand, a full colour analysis is more comprehensive. It not only identifies your undertone but also explores your seasonal or tonal colour palette, helping you discover a wide range of shades that enhance your natural features. This service is perfect if you want a deeper dive into creating a cohesive wardrobe and colouring choices that boost your confidence and complement your unique look.
Can my colouring change over time?
Yes most defiantly! Take the late Queen as an example—her palette evolved multiple times throughout her life. As we age, our hair may turn grey, our skin tone often softens, and our eye colours can lose some of their vibrancy. External factors such as sun exposure, lifestyle changes, and medical treatments (e.g., chemotherapy) can also influence how our colouring appears. Additionally, colouring your hair can significantly impact which colours suit you best, as it alters the overall balance of your natural features.
For this reason, we offer colour reviews for previous clients. We recommend scheduling a review every five years after the age of 50, or anytime you’ve changed your hair colour, to ensure your palette continues to reflect and enhance your current appearance.
FAQs
Style Analysis
What’s the best way to dress if I’ve recently had a body change (post-pregnancy, weight loss, etc)?
Life brings many changes—pregnancy, weight shifts, menopause—and it’s normal to feel unsure about your style during these times. The key is to dress for where you are now, not just where you hope to be. A colour consultation or style personality appointment can help you enhance your natural features and boost your confidence at any stage. We also offer specialist consultations and workshops for post-pregnancy and post-menopause bodies—find out more under the Workshops tab on our website.
What happens during a style consultation?
During your style consultation, we’ll explore your face shape, style personality, and body shape, and I’ll offer advice on flattering clothing styles, accessories, and outfit-building. You’ll receive practical shopping tips and a personalised summary booklet to help you feel confident and inspired in your wardrobe choices.
Can I book a style consultation online?
Yes! I offer both in-person and online style consultations, so you can choose the option that works best for you. Online sessions are fully personalised and include all the advice and support you’d receive in person, delivered conveniently via video call.
Would you like any of these adjusted, or need more FAQs for your style services?

FAQs
Can I combine multiple services into one session?
Yes, you can combine multiple services into one session; however, we generally recommend combining no more than two services at a time. For example, pairing a style consultation with a colour analysis or a style personality session with a colour consultation works well, as it ensures you’re not overwhelmed with too much information in one sitting. This approach allows you to fully absorb and apply the advice given. If you’d like to explore more services, multiple consultations can easily be booked through my website to suit your schedule and needs.
Do I need to do or bring anything to my consultation?
We recommend dressing comfortably for all consultations. For a style consultation, it’s important to wear something that allows us to analyse your body shape effectively. For a colour consultation, we suggest avoiding makeup to ensure a precise analysis. If you’re wearing light makeup, don’t worry—we can remove it during your session.
Ahead of your appointment, we’ll email you with any specific instructions to help you prepare, so you’ll know exactly what to expect. If you have any questions beforehand, feel free to get in touch!
